The San Geronimo Valley Community Center awarded Achievement in Nonprofit Excellence

San Rafael, CA, 1/9/20—The San Geronimo Valley Community Center has been awarded the Achievement in Nonprofit Excellence (Sponsor: Nugget Markets) by the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL). The award and $5,000 are presented to organizations that have demonstrated exemplary service to their constituents.

The 27th annual Heart of Marin awards ceremony, produced by the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership and Bank of Marin, hosted hundreds of individuals and nonprofit organizations which were honored at the Marin Center Exhibit Hall. CVNL has supported the work of nonprofits and volunteers in the Bay Area since 1964. Accepting the award was Dave Cort, Executive Director, of the San Geronimo Valley Community Center.

The San Geronimo Valley Community Center plays a unique and vital role in the Valley, offering myriad resources and activities. Seemingly light-years from its origins in the ’60s, the Center, then as now, reflects the multiple needs and priorities of all residents of the San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio community. They do this through their vital and robust Human Services programs, Safety Net programs, Senior programs, children, youth and teen programs and a vibrant arts and events program.

The Community Center would like to congratulate the other Heart of Marin Awardees.
