Past Events and Actions
Signs on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
In the first months of 2021, as part of our community education, Sam and Willow painted signs along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard next to the Presbyterian Church and the Lagunitas School. These signs were meant to bring awareness and inspire people to take action about the climate crisis, with the message changing every month.
Presentation at Lagunitas School
In the spring of 2021 Greenstitch headed to Lagunitas Middle School to hold a discussion with the eighth graders about the different aspects of the Thrive Agenda that we had researched for our mural.
Climate anxiety presentation
The physical effects of climate change are often discussed in forums around the world, but besides real world implications climate change can have a profound effect on our mental health, especially that of young people. This event will be an open conversation about climate anxiety-what it is, how it can manifest, our coping strategies and positive news in the climate world.
Holiday Arts Fair presentation
In December of 2020 Greenstitch participated in SGVCC’s Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair. We gave a presentation on climate action groups in Marin and how community members could make their holidays more sustainable.

Climate mural celebration
On September 26, 2021 Greenstitch hosted a community event in honor of the completion of our mural project. This also served as a networking event for local climate groups. We had live music, silkscreening of shirts and “mural tours”. Sunrise Marin, West Marin Climate Action, Green Ways to School, and CCL Youth Action Team all had booths.
