Do you ever wonder about the real facts around mental health and dementia in older adults? Detect & Connect is a workshop funded by the Mental Health Services Act of Marin County that offers skills in recognizing these issues, with valuable ways to communicate in those challenging moments, whether a friend, family member or anyone in your life. Please join us for a highly interactive presentation to help:

  • Detect the differences between normal aging and normal aging behaviours
  • Identify symptoms and behaviors of dementia
  • Learn how to connect with your loved one
  • Understand appropriate responses with compassion to this behavior
  • Engage in effective ways to communicate with older adults
  • Outline resources and support services
