Since April 2020, we have distributed over $325,000 back into our communities. These grants have provided the necessary funds to cover rent, food, bills, medical expenses, and childcare. We are so proud to provide this service. This program is dependent on funding and our guidelines are changing to better assess need so that we can continue to offer this program or something like it on a long-term basis.
Our May 2021 round begins on May 1st. For this round, we will be prioritizing first-time applicants, who will be eligible for a $500 grant. If you have received funding before, please note that the maximum amount that you will qualify for in May is $250. To qualify, you must complete a new application (see links below). Note priority will be given to seniors, single-parent households, families with children 6 years old or younger, and those without any employment or income. If you have been granted before it does not guarantee that your application will be granted again. Applications are due on May 15th.
Application instructions: Please click the application link and download the document. The downloaded document can be filled out on the computer and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please remember to include your proof of residency with your application. Additionally, over-the-phone assistance is available if you do not have access to a computer, printer, or email address. Financial Support During Shelter in Place
Those unable to work during this time are able to apply for unemployment insurance.
Those infected by COVID-19 may apply for disability insurance. The California Governor’s Executive Order waives the one-week unpaid waiting period, so you can collect DI benefits for the first week you are out of work. If you are eligible, the EDD processes and issues payments within a few weeks of receiving a claim.
