The Berensmeier Family Art Show

The San Geronimo Valley Community Center is deeply honored to present the Berensmeier Family Art Show in the Maurice Del Mue Galleries through the month of August.

Lee and Jean Berensmeier first discovered the Valley in 1953. They worked at Forest Farm Summer Camp (Forest Knolls), Lee being the Horse Wrangler and Jean the Art Director. The Berensmeiers have lived in the Valley over sixty years. What makes the family unique is that they approach their love for the environment in different ways. Grandpa (“Santa”) pioneered “artography” (photo superimpositions), Lee printmaking and drawing, Jean focused on Valley environmental politics, Paul nature writing, filmmaking and flute playing, Tina videography, photography and printmaking. This art show depicts beautiful renditions from each family member through three generations. The family has been doing art for over eighty-five years with no intention of slowing down. The August 14 Art Show opening from 4 – 7 pm will also be a celebration of Lee and Jean’s 90th birthdays. Join us!
