Senior Lunch

This very popular program has been operating since February 2009 and now takes place each Monday and Thursday from 12:00 pm-2:00pm. We have delicious well-balanced meals brought in from the kitchens of Good Earth Natural Foods with new menus every week. Some of the most popular meals are taco day, eggplant Parmesan, and barbecued chicken. All the main courses have great sides and salads and fresh fruit. It’s a great event for a healthy meal and good conversation with neighbors and friends. Suggested donation for seniors is $3.00 a meal and $6.00 for others.

During lunch, there are often additional activities offered such as health fairs, book readings, exercise classes and more. There are weekly visits from West Marin Senior Services and monthly visits from a County Health Nurse as well educational material always present to help to address senior issues. As with all our programming this is not an exclusive group but open to all from all generations.

Mah Jongg

Come and play or learn from experienced players who are happy to teach us newbies all about Mah Jongg. Bring your set if you have one. Friday afternoons from 1:00pm-3:30pm at the Center.

Ping Pong

A free program in the Community Gym offered by volunteer Jack Sayers. 1:00pm on Thursdays after the senior lunch.

Jazz in the Afternoon

Every week Judy Hall, Shawkie Roth and Geronimo play great jazz music for all. It’s free and takes place on Thursdays at 1:30pm in the Valley Room following the senior lunch.

Senior Art Exhibition

Each year we have a gallery show of art work from our very talented senior artists and crafters. Watch for the announcement of the annual Senior Art Show or contact Larry Rippee at (415) 488-8888 x252.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have many ways that seniors support the Center for its various programs and activities. Please call Nicole Ramirez at (415) 488-8888 x254 if you have some time to spare and we’ll find a job that fits your interests and schedule.

Funding for this program, at least in part, is made available by the Older Americans Act, administered locally by the Marin Department of Health and Human Services, Aging and Adult Services.
