Middle School Summer Enrichment

Workshop dates: Tuesdays 6/20-7/25 – 5 weeks

Time 9:30-11:00

Cost: $150 – includes book

This summer reading-writing workshop will guide your middle school student along the path of reading a book, then writing a meaningful summary for submission as homework. The purpose of this workshop is to offer summer support for the reading and writing requirements for middle school students.

The book highlighted in this workshop is Hoot, by Carl Hiaasen. Hoot is a light-hearted adventure-comedy featuring a crew of girls and boys fighting to save their home and forge friendships. Themes of pro-environment, human-animal symbiosis, anti-bullying and kid power are told with Hiaasen’s characteristic wit and content suitable for young adults.
