Senior Programming

We, at the Community Center, honor the experienceSGVCC Senior's Lunch and wisdom of our elders. It is our goal to not only service the Senior population of the Valley but service them with the highest dignity and respect. We encourage all the generations to reaching across to one another to form a community were all can share their gifts with each other. It is a pleasure to see our seniors, preschoolers, baby boomers and gen-X ers forming bonds at our events. With this over arching goal we look for ways to continue to expand our relationship the Senior branch of Valley Community.

We are offering Senior Lunches every Thursday at the Center. The lunches are more than just a hot, nutritious, yummy meal. They are a gathering! Seniors have a chance to stay in touch with old friends and make new ones among their peers. There are often additional activities offered; such as Health Fairs, book readings, exercise classes and more. There are weekly visits from West Marin Senior Services and monthly visits from a County Health Nurse as well educational material always present to help to address Senior issues. As with all our programming this is not an excusive group but open to all from all generations.

Helping People Prepare
How an Advance Directive Can Help You and Your Family

It helps you talk with your family, friends and doctor about how you want to be treated if you become seriously ill. Your family members will not have to guess what you want. Your family members will not have to make hard choices without knowing your wishes. You can know what your loved ones want through a written document.
What You Need to Think About
Who will make decisions for you when you can’t? What kind of medical treatment do you want or not want? How do you want people to treat you? What do you want your loved ones to know?
