The Valley Resource Center is located in the Community Center and is open Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
We're here to assist people with information, referrals, and direct assistance in accessing social and health services and programs that serve the entire San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio community.
Programs for families with children ages 0-5 years old; child care before and after school at Valley Kids Club; a Teen Center and other after school programs for middle school students; one-on-one after school tutoring and homework help with VAST; a variety of exciting after school enrichment programs and classes for youngsters in grades k-8. Gardening and nutrition programs in and after school are offered for kids k-8 as well!
These programs are offered throughout the school year focusing on important health and social issues for children and families including nutrition, cooking and healthy eating, and workshops on children's and teenagers social development.
Referrals to other organizations in our Valley community include West Marin Senior Services, Costal Health Alliance, and the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services among others.
The Center has the privilege this year of working with the Bay Area Male Involvement Network (BAMIN). We are looking for local men to help facilitate and participate in family events to draw awareness to the benefits that a positive male role model can bring to a child's life. We have activities such as tickets to sporting events, barbeque, family improv night and an outdoor game day.
